Presidential Leadership Scholars 2027 for Experienced Leaders (Fully Funded)

Application Deadline: July 19, 2026

Applications are now open for the Presidential Leadership Scholars (PLS) 2027 program, a prestigious leadership development initiative that brings together accomplished leaders from diverse sectors to strengthen their ability to drive positive change. Through a unique learning experience inspired by the leadership legacies of U.S. Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Lyndon B. Johnson, participants gain practical tools, valuable networks, and fresh perspectives for tackling complex challenges.

For professionals seeking to elevate their leadership impact, the program offers a rare opportunity to learn alongside a cohort of high-achieving peers and develop a project that drives meaningful change.

The Presidential Leadership Scholars program is designed for experienced leaders who have already demonstrated a strong commitment to service, civic engagement, and professional excellence. Rather than focusing on introductory leadership concepts, the program helps participants build on existing strengths and explore new approaches to leadership in an increasingly complex world.

Over six months, Scholars engage in intensive learning modules, leadership development activities, collaborative discussions, and reflective exercises that encourage personal and professional growth. The program emphasizes inclusion, collaboration, constructive dialogue, and the ability to work effectively across different perspectives.

A key component of the experience is the Personal Leadership Project (PLP). Each applicant must propose a project that addresses a significant leadership challenge and creates a positive outcome for a specific group of people. Throughout the program, Scholars refine and advance their projects using insights gained from the curriculum, faculty, and fellow participants.

The 2027 cohort will begin with an onboarding webinar in January 2027, followed by six in-person modules running through June 2027. Participants are expected to attend all sessions and actively engage in program activities.

One of the most attractive aspects of the program is that all housing, meals, and domestic travel expenses related to program sessions are covered, allowing Scholars to focus fully on learning, collaboration, and leadership development.
