About the Opportunity

The V-Dem Institute Internship Fall 2026 invites two to four motivated students to join its research team in Gothenburg, Sweden. V-Dem (Varieties of Democracy) is internationally recognized for its multidimensional dataset measuring democratic systems across the globe.

Rather than viewing democracy as simply the presence of elections, V-Dem measures five core principles: electoral, liberal, participatory, deliberative, and egalitarian democracy. Its work supports scholars, policymakers, and international organizations worldwide.

Interns will contribute to research activities related to democracy measurement, data collection, and social science communication. Depending on skills and interests, interns may support quantitative research tasks or assist in research dissemination and communication efforts.
