About the Program

The Ghana Emerging Public Leaders Fellowship is a one-year professional development program designed to prepare talented young professionals for impactful careers in Ghana’s public sector.

Delivered by Emerging Public Leaders Ghana in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, the program equips fellows with leadership training, mentorship, and practical experience to strengthen governance and public service delivery.

Since its launch, the fellowship has trained over 175 fellows across Ghana’s civil service and policy organizations, helping build a new generation of mission-driven public leaders. Alumni now serve in government institutions and civil society organizations, contributing to national development and community impact.

The 2026 cohort will continue this mission by recruiting young leaders dedicated to ethical leadership, public sector innovation, and inclusive governance.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Ghana Emerging Public Leaders Fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be a Ghanaian citizen with a valid national ID
  • Be a full-time resident in Ghana
  • Be aged 22–32 years
  • Hold an undergraduate degree
  • Have completed national service
  • Demonstrate commitment to public sector work
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Have strong written and spoken English
