About the Opportunity

In many universities, strong ideas often stop at the proposal stage due to limited research funding. This program steps in to close that gap—specifically for students working on natural products with potential health benefits.

The DOST-PCHRD Undergraduate Thesis Grant 2026 focuses on encouraging research rooted in the Philippines’ rich biodiversity. From medicinal plants to microorganisms, selected projects are expected to contribute to the country’s growing interest in alternative drug development under the Tuklas Lunas program.

Beyond financial assistance, the initiative also connects students to a structured research environment. After completing their studies, selected participants will present their findings in a formal research competition—offering both exposure and academic recognition.

This opportunity is officially offered by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD), and applicants should apply through the official application portal.
