The Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship 2026 is a prestigious funding initiative designed to support outstanding African students pursuing postgraduate study in the UK.

Seven scholarships are available for the 2026 academic year:

  • Six Master’s scholarships
  • One PhD scholarship

Eligible Programmes

Applicants may apply for:

  • Any full-time 1-year Master’s programme
  • Any full-time research degree (MPhil/PhD)

Priority fields include:

  • Development Studies
  • Economics & Finance
  • Law
  • Anthropology & Politics

Note: Part-time and 2-year master’s programmes are not eligible.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be African nationals residing in Africa
  • Be classified as international fee-paying students
  • Apply for a full-time eligible programme for 2026
  • Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement

Master’s applicants:

  • First-class degree or equivalent (2:1 may apply, but not preferred)

PhD applicants:

  • Master’s degree with distinction (merit may apply, but not preferred)

Additional requirements:

  • Apply to SOAS before the scholarship deadline
  • Obtain an unconditional offer before selection
  • Meet English language requirements if applicable
  • Show commitment to Africa’s sustainable development
