ISS Dakar Junior Fellowship Programme 2026-2027 (Fully Funded Senegal)

Application Deadline: 10 May 2026
For young West Africans looking to step into the world of policy and leadership, this fellowship offers more than just experience; it’s a direct pathway into influence. The ISS Dakar Junior Fellowship Programme 2026-2027 is designed to equip emerging leaders with the tools, exposure, and networks needed to shape governance and security across the region.
Delivered by the Institute for Security Studies in partnership with the Robert Bosch Foundation, this programme focuses on “Gender, human security and geopolitics” a critical area shaping West Africa’s future.
Selected fellows will spend 10 months in Dakar working alongside leading African policy experts. It’s a hands-on experience where learning goes far beyond theory. Fellows actively engage in research, contribute to policy discussions, and interact with decision-makers who influence real change across the region.
You’ll be part of a small, competitive cohort (just four fellows), which means deeper mentorship, stronger collaboration, and meaningful access to high-level networks. From publishing research to participating in regional policy conversations, the programme places you right at the center of Africa’s governance landscape.
