The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) is a national initiative designed to connect talented Nigerian graduates with paid work placements across both public and private sectors. Backed by the Federal Government of Nigeria, funded by the European Union, and implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, the programme is built to address one of the country’s most pressing challenges: youth unemployment.
At its core, NJFP is not just about getting a job; it’s about building a career. Selected fellows are matched with host organizations where they gain hands-on experience for 12 months. The process is structured carefully, from application and assessment to onboarding and final placement, ensuring that each candidate is aligned with roles that match their skills and career goals.
What makes this programme particularly impactful is the combination of work experience and continuous development. Fellows receive mentorship from experienced professionals, access to employability and digital skills training, and exposure to real workplace environments. Even after the fellowship ends, participants who are not immediately retained are supported through an Alumni Talent Hub for an additional six months, helping them transition into long-term opportunities.
This approach reflects a broader vision to create a workforce that is not only employable but also competitive in a rapidly evolving global economy.
Eligibility
To apply as a Fellow, applicants must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen
- Be a fresh graduate (Bachelor’s degree or HND) not earlier than 2022
- Have at least a Second Class Lower (2:2) or Upper Credit for HND
- Be 30 years old or younger
- Have completed NYSC or possess a certificate of exemption
- Not be currently employed
- Demonstrate commitment to a chosen career path
- Show interest in contributing to Nigeria’s socio-economic development
- Possess good communication and professional skills
