About the Opportunity

The Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship (PAYA) is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Youth Council, a national initiative designed to amplify the voices of young apprentices.

This year-long program brings together current and former youth apprentices to collaborate on projects that promote and improve apprenticeship opportunities across the country. Participants will work closely with peers and industry leaders while gaining hands-on experience in leadership, advocacy, and public engagement.

Council members will contribute to youth-led initiatives, participate in discussions, and represent the apprenticeship community through panels, interviews, and other national engagements. The program will conclude with an in-person summit in Washington, DC, in June 2027, fully covered by PAYA.

This opportunity is officially offered by the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship (PAYA) at New America. Applicants must apply through the official application portal.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the PAYA Youth Council 2026, applicants must:

  • Be at least 16 years old and not older than 24 as of June 1, 2026
  • Be a current or recent participant in a youth apprenticeship program within the PAYA Network
